Nico Hartt is a San Diego, California based trance music producer. Over the last 6 years he has steadily sharpened his studio skills and his first 2 releases, Guardians and Cerberus, have amassed big numbers on Spotify. As a former guitar player in a punk rock band, he was introduced to the sounds of the Warp Brothers, Armin Van Buuren, and Tiesto by a friend and that led him down the musical path to arrive at trance. He was drawn to the feelings, good melodies, and versatility of trance in all forms – uplifting, dark, hard, etc. A particular inspirational song was Gareth Emery’s “Sanctuary” Club Mix and after hearing that Nico instantly knew he wanted to make that music. Other production influences include Protoculture, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Cosmic Gate, and Orjan Nilsen.
As for “Another Day”, Nico says it is a culmination of different production techniques and pieces that were strung together into a song. If you close your eyes and listen you will not be able to tell
whether it is from Nico or one of those influential producers that inspired him.
He is definitely a student of music production and supports the producer community by hosting a monthly producer meet-up in San Diego.
